About this trip
Marangu is the oldest and gentlest established route up Kilimanjaro, and the only one with sleeping huts along the way instead of tents, which makes it the most straightforward route logistically. At five to six days it is also the shortest standard itinerary, using the same path for both the ascent and the descent. That shorter default duration means less time to acclimatize compared to routes like Lemosho or the Northern Circuit, which is generally reflected in a lower summit success rate unless extra acclimatization days are added.
