About this trip
Lemosho starts on Kilimanjaro's western side and crosses the Shira Plateau before joining the southern circuit toward the summit, widely considered one of the most scenic ways up the mountain thanks to its quieter, more remote opening days. At around eight days it is longer than Marangu or Machame, and that extra time on the mountain to acclimatize is generally credited with giving it one of the higher summit success rates among the standard routes. Camping only, no huts.
