About this trip

Mount Kilimanjaro, at 5,895 meters, is the highest peak in Africa and one of the most accessible high-altitude summits in the world, no technical climbing gear required, just a good level of fitness and enough days on the mountain to acclimatize properly. Several established routes reach the summit, each with a different character: Marangu, the only route with hut accommodation instead of tents, typically climbed over five to six days and sometimes called the "Coca-Cola route"; Machame, a scenic camping route usually walked over six to seven days, known as the "Whiskey route"; Lemosho and Rongai, both longer options with generally higher summit success rates thanks to the extra acclimatization days; and Umbwe, the steepest and most direct line up the mountain, better suited to experienced trekkers. Route, group size and number of days are confirmed once we know your fitness level and travel dates, since more days on the mountain consistently means a better chance of reaching Uhuru Peak.
