About this trip

Over a million wildebeest, alongside hundreds of thousands of zebra, move in a roughly circular route through the Serengeti ecosystem every year, and this itinerary is built around wherever that movement is at the time you travel rather than a fixed set of parks. Calving season runs from around January to March on the southern plains, when newborn calves draw concentrated predator activity, the migration then moves north through the western corridor around April to June, and the Mara River crossings, the most photographed stage, typically run from July to September before the herds move south again. Because the timing shifts a little year to year with the rains, the exact route and camp locations are confirmed closer to your travel date rather than fixed months in advance.
