Tarangire National Park Safari

About this trip

Tarangire National Park is known for its baobab-studded landscape and for elephant herds that gather along the Tarangire River in large numbers during the dry season, roughly June through October, when it is one of the few reliable water sources in the area. The park is quieter than Serengeti or Ngorongoro, with fewer vehicles per sighting, and its swamps and river frontage also draw large herds of buffalo, zebra and wildebeest plus healthy populations of lion and, if you are patient, leopard. It works well as a two or three day addition to a Northern Circuit itinerary, or as its own short safari for travelers short on time.
